The revamp of the Slide Style™ site is finally complete, and live online. A lot of work went into this site, and I like it a LOT more than the old version. It looks a lot cleaner, and much more polished. I think the catalog of products looks awesome. I have some more items to get up on the site… but for the most part, she’s full-steam ahead.Take a look, buy something, and support American drifting!
A project that I’ve been wrenching on for a minute has finally gone live!!! I’m working with some great people on this project, and I am really excited about it. We have some really big plans for this site.Take a look, subscribe, and comment it up!rnwww.motormavens.com
If you were to search the pages of any dictionary, you would find that a maven is a connoisseur – a person who has specialized knowledge or expertise dealing with a particular topic.Though this definition is true, there is much more to being a maven than simply gaining knowledge or experience. True mavens are created by their passion for the subject; after all, relentless passion is the driving force behind the mastery of any subject or skill. That passion is what drove us to create this site and we look forward to all of the specialized knowledge and experience that you, our fellow Motor Mavens, bring to the table. Email us at (motormavens(at)gmail.com) with any suggestions, contributions or special insights you may have.
After months and months of countless hours… the new Advanced Armament Corp. website is finally up and running. This site has been an enormous undertaking from all angles. I’m really happy to see it go-live.Check it out, click around, browse the online storewww.advanced-armament.com

I designed this poster going for more of a SWAT feel than last years poster design. The photo I had to work with was cluttered with noise from low-light shooting, so it took a lot of retouching to make it look decent. I can definitely see this as a movie cover on the shelf at Blockbuster.
Unfortunately… this poster design fell victim to the chopping block, and got veto’d for print.
Keep an eye out for the comedic spin off the Strength Means Durability ad I designed for Advanced Armament. rnThis ad was a lot of fun to make, and is on newstands now.
In an effort to raise the bar at grassroots drift events… I schemed with Marcos and cranked out a RAD set of decks that will be trophies for this coming weekend’s Southeast Drift Challenge. This will be the first grassroots drift event in Atlanta with sanctioned team drift and single-run competition. This mad action will span two days at Turner.

There will be two complete sets of these decks to be won. The 1st place finishers (3 drivers) in the team drift competition will each receive a deck. Each of their decks will read “Team Drift 1st Place”. The 1st-3rd place finishers in the single-run competition on Sunday will receive one of the above decks with their respective finish on it.
With a MASSIVE effort behind it… The 2009 Advanced Armament Corp. catalog is finally complete. This project was an immense undertaking, and I am very glad to see it finished. I have been wrenching on the design, layout, and revisions for months. I’m VERY pleased with the result, and extremely proud of the final product.[kml_flashembed fversion=”8.0.0″ movie=”http://www.andysapp.com/clients/advanced_armament/09_catalog/catalogue.swf” targetclass=”flashmovie” base=”http://www.andysapp.com/clients/advanced_armament/09_catalog/09_catalog” publishmethod=”static” width=”695″ height=”296″/]rn(Click and pull the pages)If you would like to see the catalog in more detail, click here to download a PDF version.
A sneak-peek at the 4-page spread I designed for S3 Magazine covering DMGGMASD. Keep an eye out on newstands in January.
The world is not ready.

A new full-page ad I designed for AAC. Keep an eye out for this across newstands everywhere.
I just got back a one-off deck I had made of the Drift Invasion T-shirt design I designed for the guys over at Unnatural Inc. It came out a bit dark, but overall pretty rad!

I have been working on a lot of new decks as of late… mostly one-offs for my collection. As a jaded designer… pressing up decks is a refreshing change of a print medium. The same excitement I used to get when a box of 5000 12pt 4/4 UV coated flyers would come in is now the same excitement I get when a box filled with skateable pieces of 7-ply Canadian maple arrives at my door.I had a few other decks pressed, but I can’t post them up just yet… so stay tuned!
