Finished up a cool website for Matt Powers! He wanted it to resemble a newspaper format… and after a few revisions, I think it turned out pretty rad! Definitely different from the sites that I normally build. I dig the simplicity of it.DriftParty.com

Even though I “revamped” the Slide Style™ site about six months ago… some sort of muse was pushing me to scrap it, and do something else. The hosting was up for renewal, so rather than renew, and keep the hacked up WordPress store that had too much going on, I opted to move everything over to a Big Cartel storefront. Keeping things inline with “less is more for 2010”, I stripped everything down to the barest of essentials. Dare I say that it looks MUCH better? The added functionality that Big Cartel provides, like easier combined & international shipping profiles, made the move that much sweeter.I have some new items making their way to the store over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled!

In lieu of the new year, I decided to give the site a once-over with some new graphic elements and increased functionality. Since my pursuit of a career in professional drifting has long-since expired, I wanted adjust the main navigation to focus attention toward my artistic abilities.Special thanks to Carlos Richard for the photo in the main header!

MotorMavens Online Store

I revamped the online store on MotorMavens. Using Big Cartel’s pre-existing shopping cart template, I was able to tweak everything to fit within the exiting framework of the site. Now combining shipping and accommodating international customers with overseas shipping options is MUCH easier.http://store.motormavens.com

Slide Style™ 2009 Site

The revamp of the Slide Style™ site is finally complete, and live online. A lot of work went into this site, and I like it a LOT more than the old version. It looks a lot cleaner, and much more polished. I think the catalog of products looks awesome. I have some more items to get up on the site… but for the most part, she’s full-steam ahead.Take a look, buy something, and support American drifting!

ALL THE DRAMA!

Equally as overdue as the DriftMechaniks forum upgrade/re-skin, the new dM blog is up and running. We’ve had a ‘coming VERY soon’ page since 2004, and everyone else always seemed to come first… knocking the dM site down on the list of to-do’s. No longer. The whole crew has posting access… so subscribe at your own risk and commence the ‘elite’ mentality that is dM.

You've come a long way, baby.

After 5 years of the same ol’ phpBB2 look and feel, I’ve upgraded the DriftMechaniks forum to phpBB3, and re-skinned it with a fresher, more updated look. I thought it would be a smooth transition until I found out you can’t embed HTML in phpBB3… which is not good, considering the amount of YouTube and Vimeo embeds we have on the site. I figured out a way to force embed – but now I have to go back through over 800 posts and at HTML bbcode tags before and after all embedded video.

A project that I’ve been wrenching on for a minute has finally gone live!!! I’m working with some great people on this project, and I am really excited about it. We have some really big plans for this site.Take a look, subscribe, and comment it up!rnwww.motormavens.comMotorMavens.com

If you were to search the pages of any dictionary, you would find that a maven is a connoisseur – a person who has specialized knowledge or expertise dealing with a particular topic.Though this definition is true, there is much more to being a maven than simply gaining knowledge or experience. True mavens are created by their passion for the subject; after all, relentless passion is the driving force behind the mastery of any subject or skill. That passion is what drove us to create this site and we look forward to all of the specialized knowledge and experience that you, our fellow Motor Mavens, bring to the table. Email us at (motormavens(at)gmail.com) with any suggestions, contributions or special insights you may have.

Slide Style™

I launched the new Slide Style™ website today. Since I have been stuck in bed unable to do anything with my shattered collarbone, it gave me a chance to get everything up online. It’s awesome to see a complete catalog of the things we’ve made over the years.

Check it out:
