Things up at Advanced Armament have been keeping me extremely busy with a number of different tasks. Some of which, have been magazine ads. I have created several full-page ads that have been appearing in many different publications.

Bumper mounted picture - Andy Sapp

I stumbled across this cool old picture I snapped back in 2004. I shot this with my point-and-shoot mounted on my rear bumper. It would be nice to re-take this shot now with better wheel fitment… but regardless, this snap turned out rad.

The 2nd installment of Southeastdrift.com‘s Triple Threat series can only be summed up with one word: GNAR. The advanced tandem group threw down door-to-door action and SICK multi-car tandem ALL DAY LONG. It rained toward the end of the day… which is always a blast for me. This event was what drifting is about: having real fun with real friends, drifting at the limit, and enjoying the sport. No politics, no pressure, no bullshit.

Hats of to Marcos and the crew at Southeastdrift.com for stepping up and keeping Atlanta drifting alive – the way it should be.

The 2nd round of SouthEastDrift.com‘s Triple Threat series was one of the best yet. Multi-car tandems, door handle to door handle, just plain SICK. DriftMechaniks, without a doubt, held it down as Atlanta’s illest.

Panda snapped a cool shot as we were unloading our trucks at daybreak.

I will post more details about the madness soon.

In the meantime… check out the video here.

KILL OR BE KILL. from Andy Sapp on Vimeo.

This video is a super-short and sweet attempt at making a drift video unlike any other I have made before. All the on-car footage is shot from cameras mounted on other drift cars during multi-car tandem. I wanted it to feel very theatrical… and the soundtrack by John Carpenter helps tremendously. The DriftMechaniks were on a murder spree this weekend… so it seemed all-but fitting.

Ryan Ridings, a talented 3d modeler is making a SICK 3D model of my e46! He started working on this model close to a year ago… and just recently picked it back up and turning wrenches on it. The progress has been awesome to watch so far… Ryan definitely has an eye for this. I took a modeling class in Lightwave in college, and did terrible… so I have a lot of respect for Ryan’s talent. Did I mention he is 17 years old?

Check out the progress up until now… starting with the earliest render. I will post up more as Ryan makes progress… so stay tuned! In the meantime… check out Ryan’s Blog… and someone hire him!!!.

Gran Turismo East Logo

I had a chance to sit down and re-work the GTE logo I made back in 2006. The original typeface had some inconsistent letter skewing. So I fixed that, along with some of the ligatures. I adjusted some of the kerning, and added a few other tweaks as well.

AAC SCILENTâ„¢ Ad

A cool new ad campaign for Advanced Armament Corp. Not only did I get to design this ad… I also got to take on the lead role as the “hand model”.

A lot of wrench time went down in this garage. Between my ol’ eight-six’s delinquent functionality, and 3 years of pro drift-car maintenance on the E46… countless hours have been spent. Fans running, metal blaring, and wrenches clicking… this garage will definitely be missed. Some ol’ pics in lieu of my nostalgiaAndy Sapp - GaragernAndy Sapp - GaragernAndy Sapp - GaragernAndy Sapp - Garage

Growing up, my family moved around a lot. Every 18-24 months we were off to a new city, in a new state. Looking back on it… it shaped who I am today – no matter how much I hated always being the “new kid”. Moving around that often made my family incredibly strong, and pushed me to become overly independent. After close to 3 years in my apartment here in the Dunwoody prefecture… the time has come to move on. I still hate moving… but this time is for the best. I’ll definitely miss the Dunwoody touge, and the 4am street drifting madness that may or may not have ensued with regularity. Definitely the end of an era. I’m headed slightly north… but still within earshot of Atlanta. Here are some ol’ pictures of the apartment in it’s overcrowded gloryAndy Sapp - Dunwoody ApartmentrnAndy Sapp - Dunwoody ApartmentrnAndy Sapp - Dunwoody ApartmentrnAndy Sapp - Dunwoody ApartmentrnAndy Sapp - Dunwoody Apartment
